La Bolognese (La bolognese) (translated)
La bolognese ("The Girl from Bologna") is a 1975 Italian comedy directed by Alfredo Rizzo, with Franca Gonella in the leading role. The picture belongs to the commedia sexy all'italiana wave, the playful erotic-comedy tradition that flourished in Italian cinema throughout the decade. Running roughly seventy-two minutes from a screenplay by Piero Regnoli, it builds its light, farcical situations around a young woman from Bologna, as its title suggests. Alongside Gonella, the ensemble features Luca Sportelli together with familiar character actors of the period such as Attilio Dottesio, Guido Leontini, Ria De Simone, Dada Gallotti and Luciano Pigozzi. Shot in Italian, the film is a representative product of mid-1970s popular genre production in Italy and reflects the tastes and conventions of that era's commercial cinema.
