Tatort: Tod im U-Bahnschacht (Tatort: Tod im U-Bahnschacht) (translated)
Tod im U-Bahnschacht is a 1975 episode of the long-running ARD crime series Tatort. Produced by Sender Freies Berlin (SFB) and first broadcast on 9 November 1975, it marks the first appearance of Kommissar Schmidt in the series.
Directed by Wolf Gremm from a screenplay by Peter Stripp, the 91-minute television film follows Schmidt as he investigates the fatal accident of an illegally employed foreign worker, the human-smuggling ring behind it, and a hostage situation arising from the case. It is regarded as the first Tatort with a central migration theme and is counted among the most controversial films of the entire series. The cast includes Erdal Merdan, Tuncel Kurtiz and Aras Ören.
