Valentina… The Virgin Wife

Movie · 1975–1978 · 2 people

La moglie vergine is a 1975 Italian commedia sexy all'italiana directed by Marino Girolami, who is credited on the film under the pseudonym Franco Martinelli. The screenplay was written jointly by Carlo Veo and Girolami. The picture runs about one hundred minutes and was shot in Italian. Its cast is headed by Renzo Montagnani, Edwige Fenech and Ray Lovelock, with Antonio Guidi, Carroll Baker, Gianfranco De Angelis, Gabriella Giorgelli and Gastone Pescucci in supporting parts. Abroad it circulated under several alternate titles, among them The Virgin Wife, Valentina and You've Got to Have Heart, and it reached some markets only in later years, which accounts for the varied release dates attached to it. A typical product of the era's Italian erotic-comedy wave, it builds its lighthearted story around marriage and the title character's much-discussed virtue.
