Warrior of the Lost World

Warrior of the Lost World is a post-apocalyptic science fiction action film written and directed by David Worth. An Italian-American co-production shot in English, it runs about 92 minutes. It belongs to the crop of post-apocalyptic pictures that multiplied in the early 1980s after the success of the Mad Max films, and in some markets it is also known as Mad Rider.

The story is set in a dystopian future where civilisation has collapsed, and follows a lone warrior who stands against an oppressive order. Robert Ginty, Persis Khambatta and Donald Pleasence share the leading roles, with Fred Williamson, Laura Nucci, Scott Coffey, Urs Althaus, Ennio Antonelli and Mario Pedone also in the cast.

The film first reached Italian screens in 1983 as Il Giustiziere della terra perduta (“Vigilante of the Lost Earth”). It was later reissued for the video and television markets as I predatori dell'anno Omega (“Raiders of the Omega Year”). It came out in France in 1984 as Le Chevalier du monde perdu, while in Germany it carried the title The Last Warrior.
