Tunay Acar is a Turkish former footballer who played as a full-back, born on 30 April 1989 in Wiesbaden, Germany, to a Turkish working-class family; he holds German citizenship alongside his Turkish nationality. He began playing football with FV Biebrich 02 before moving into SV Wehen Wiesbaden's youth system, from where he was brought into the club's reserve side, SV Wehen Wiesbaden II. He made his official debut on 16 August 2008, in a Regionalliga Süd match against SpVgg Unterhaching II, and soon became a regular starter.
