Ufuk Ceylan — Biography
Ufuk Ceylan (born 23 June 1986 in İzmir) is a Turkish former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper and stood 1.94 m tall. He began his professional career in Altay's youth system, was promoted to the first team in 2002, and made 10 appearances for Altay between the 2003-04 and 2005-06 seasons.
He transferred to Manisaspor in 2006, initially playing as third-choice goalkeeper before becoming first-choice in 2007-08; he then broke his arm in a European Championship qualifying match for the Turkish under-21 team against Liechtenstein and was out for roughly three months. He still made 30 appearances in 2008-09 as Manisaspor won promotion to the top division. In September 2009 he moved from Manisaspor to Galatasaray, where he stayed until 2014; he made his first Süper Lig appearance in August 2010 against Bursaspor, was sent off against Ankaragücü in October 2010, and stood out in December 2013 by saving four penalties against Gaziantepspor. With Galatasaray he won two Süper Lig titles, two Turkish Super Cups and a Turkish Cup. After choosing not to renew his contract in 2014 and bidding farewell to Galatasaray's fans, Ceylan signed with İstanbul Başakşehir; later in his career he played for Yeni Malatyaspor, Göztepe and Alanyaspor.
Ceylan was called up 41 times to Turkey's under-18, under-19 and under-21 national teams and also played for the Turkey B national team; he was called up to the senior squad three times, the first for a 2009 friendly against Ivory Coast.
