Uğur Uçar — Biography
Uğur Uçar was born on 5 April 1987 in Istanbul and is a Turkish former footballer and coach who played as a right back. A product of the Galatasaray academy, he broke into the first team in 2004, spent 2006-07 on loan at Kayserispor, and became a first-choice starter on his return in 2007-08, until a knee injury in a February 2008 match against Konyaspor kept him out for over a year; he returned in May 2009. He was capped more than 80 times across Turkey's youth national teams.
He was transferred to Ankaragücü on 23 June 2010; giving a statement during a match-fixing investigation ahead of 2011-12, he said he had been offered a bribe but had turned it down, and that same season had his contract terminated after the club fell behind on payments. He then moved to Kardemir Karabükspor, and in 2014-15 to İstanbul Başakşehir, winning the Süper Lig title there in 2019-20; he later also played for Pendikspor, winning the 2. Lig title with them in 2021-22.
After retiring, Uçar worked as an assistant coach at Pendikspor and Eyüpspor before taking over as Pendikspor's head coach in March 2025; his contract was extended in January 2026, and on 17 February 2026 he was appointed head coach of Çorum FK.
