Uğurcan Çakır — Biography
Born on April 5, 1996, in Antalya to a father from Trabzon's Yomra district and a mother from Antalya's Akseki district, Uğurcan Çakır started out as a striker at a football school his father and uncle ran in Istanbul, before switching to goalkeeper in 2009 when his school team was short a keeper and he was spotted playing in goal.
He joined Trabzonspor's academy in 2012 via the club's feeder side 1461 Trabzon, made his first-team debut in the summer of 2015, and became a regular from 2017 onward. Standing 1.91 m tall, he was named first-choice goalkeeper in 2018–19 and later club captain, winning a Turkish Cup, two Turkish Super Cups and a Süper Lig title -- Trabzonspor's first league championship in 38 years -- during his time there. Since September 2025 he has played for Galatasaray, where he continues to serve as the Turkey national team's first-choice goalkeeper.
