Ward Horton — Biography
Ward Kirby Horton was born on January 14, 1976, in Morristown, New Jersey; after his family moved to North Carolina he grew up on a horse farm and studied business at Wake Forest University. He briefly worked as a wealth-management advisor at an investment bank before following his passion for the stage, moving to New York to train as an actor while supporting himself through modeling and commercials, and appearing off-Broadway, notably in the long-running play Perfect Crime. In the early 2000s he took guest roles on Law & Order, CSI: Miami, Gossip Girl and White Collar, then drew notice on film in Extraordinary Measures (2010), opposite Harrison Ford, and Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street (2013). His biggest breakthrough came playing John Form in the 2014 horror hit Annabelle, followed by a main-cast role as Dr. Scott Strauss on the CBS series Pure Genius (2016-2017), a part in Ford v Ferrari (2019), and the role of banker Charles Fane on HBO's The Gilded Age. In 2018 he played Ed in a Broadway revival of Torch Song Trilogy, and his other credits include Bir Dilim Aşk, Psycho Therapy: The Shallow Tale of a Writer Who Decided to Write about a Serial Killer, and The Night Agent.
