Yasin Çelik

Yasin Çelik — Biography

Yasin Çelik was born on 8 April 1975 in Sakarya and played his career as a right-back. He spent the longest and most defining spells of his club career at Sakaryaspor and Konyaspor, the two sides he is most closely associated with, making over 180 Süper Lig appearances primarily for Konyaspor. Besides those two clubs he also played for Ankaragücü, and for a spell he turned out for Kartalspor of the TFF First League.

His path crossed with the Turkey national team only once: in a friendly against Russia at the Lokomotiv Stadium, which the visitors won 1-0, he started on the bench and came on in the 80th minute, earning his sole cap in that match on 22 April 1998. Çelik hung up his boots in 2009 and subsequently moved into coaching, serving as a volunteer coach with the first team at Kırkpınarspor for two years before handing the role over to Soner Büyükergun on 21 November 2011.
