Yasin Öztekin

Yasin Öztekin — Biography

Yasin Öztekin was born on 19 March 1987 in Dortmund, Germany, to a family with roots in Kırşehir, Turkey. He took up football as a small child at amateur side Alemannia Scharnhorst, where his father coached, and joined Borussia Dortmund's academy in 1996. After about a decade in the club's youth system, he became a regular for the reserve team and made his first senior appearances under Jürgen Klopp in 2009, though a serious injury kept him from establishing himself in the first team.

In January 2011 the winger moved to Turkey with Gençlerbirliği, then played for Trabzonspor and Kayseri Erciyesspor before signing for Galatasaray in 2014. There he won two Süper Lig titles, two Turkish Cups and two Turkish Super Cups, and in 2015 he made his debut for the Turkish national team. In the later years of his career he played in the lower divisions for clubs such as Bucaspor 1928 and Yalova FK, joining İzmir Çoruhlu FK in early 2026 and, after that club dropped to amateur level, reportedly agreeing terms with Uşakspor.
