Yüksel Sariyar — Biography
Yüksel Sariyar (born 1 August 1979 in Vienna) is an Austrian former footballer of Turkish descent, capped internationally, who played mainly in midfield and later worked as a coach. He began his professional career in 1997 with the reserve side of Austria Wien, was scouted by Gençlerbirliği and moved to the Turkish Süper Lig but made only 7 league appearances before returning to Austria at the end of the season to spend three years at LASK.
He returned to Turkey for the 2003-04 season, playing 30 matches and scoring 6 goals for Kocaelispor, then went back to Austria to play for SV Pasching, Austria Wien and second-division side Wiener Neustadt; the newly formed Wiener Neustadt had taken over Schwanenstadt's playing licence for the 2008-09 season, and Sariyar was joined there by former Austria Wien teammates Sanel Kuljic, Johannes Aigner and Sašo Fornezzi. In January 2010 he left Wiener Neustadt for Slovak side DAC Dunajská Streda. While he played mostly as a central midfielder, he also featured as a full back and right winger.
He made his debut for the Austrian national team in February 2005 against Latvia and went on to earn 13 caps and score one goal, though he was not selected for the Euro 2008 squad. After retiring as a player he moved into coaching.
