Ayla Arslancan — Biography
Born Ayla Musaballı in Istanbul on 16 April 1936, Ayla Arslancan spent her childhood in Ankara before beginning a stage career in her early twenties. Over a career of nearly four decades she became one of the recognizable faces of Turkish cinema and television.
She appeared in 1970s productions such as Çılgın Yenge, Diyet and Bitirimler Sınıfı, but is best remembered for Züğürt Ağa, Selamsız Bandosu and Uçurtmayı Vurmasınlar. In the 2000s she stayed active on screen, appearing in the series Gümüş, Fırtına, Annem, Acemi Cadı and Sihirli Annem, and in the films Kavşak, Ayrılık, Nar and Entelköy Efeköy'e Karşı.
Arslancan died of lung cancer in Istanbul on 29 March 2015 at the age of 78 and was buried at Kozlu Cemetery.
