Çağrı Çıtanak — Biography

Çağrı Çıtanak is a Turkish actor born in 1990 in the Antakya district of Hatay; sources give differing exact birth dates. He began acting in his youth after training at the Antakya Municipality City Theatre, started his career with television commercials, and moved to Istanbul to pursue acting professionally.

He gained a wide following as Kaan in Fox TV's Babam Sınıfta Kaldı, and had his real breakthrough as Bülent in Kanal D's Tatlı İntikam in 2016. In 2017 he played Teo in Ateş Böceği on Star TV and later the Greek character Spiros in the period drama Vatanım Sensin. He rose to international recognition as Ferit Şimşek in the hugely popular Sen Çal Kapımı (2020-2021), then took the lead role of Mete in Erkek Severse, appeared in the film Sen İnandır in 2023, and played Selim in Netflix's Kübra in 2024. Alongside theatre, he is also interested in literature and photography.

Çıtanak married fellow actor Başak Gümülcinelioğlu on 8 October 2022; his mother, Nevber Yurdal Çıtanak, died when the building she was in collapsed in Antakya during the February 2023 Kahramanmaraş earthquakes, and the couple's first child, a son named Devin, was born in late 2025. In a contract dispute with his former manager Özlem Duran, a court ordered Çıtanak to pay her 16,000 dollars in damages.
