Daniela Giordano — Biography

Daniela Giordano was born on 7 November 1947 in Palermo and became one of the defining faces of Italian exploitation cinema in the late 1960s and 1970s. Before moving into film she won local beauty contests in Palermo, was crowned Miss Sicily and then Miss Italia in 1966, and finished runner-up at Miss Europe the following year.

She made her screen debut in 1967 in Marcello Ciorciolini's I barbieri di Sicilia, opposite the comic duo Franco and Ciccio, and went on to work across comedies, sex comedies, poliziotteschi and spaghetti westerns. She retired from acting in 1980 with Gérard Loubeau's Secrets d'adolescentes, which also starred French porn actress Brigitte Lahaie, before returning briefly in 2015 for two films, Luciano Imperoli's Help Me Have No Human Ways and Valentina Gebbia's Erba Celeste.

Giordano died in Palermo on 16 December 2022, aged 75, after a short illness. She is often confused with a stage actress and director of the same name.
