Defne Samyeli — Biography

Defne Samyeli was born in 1972 in İstanbul.

She completed her education at Boğaziçi University.

After placing third in a beauty pageant she entered in 1991, she began making television programs.

In 1994, working with Melih Kibar, she released the album titled Tek Başına, but did not achieve the result she had hoped for.

Defne Samyeli, who then received musical theater and voice training, signed with Kanal D and began working as a news anchor, quickly rising to the top.

Samyeli, who received many awards throughout her career, was named the World's Best Anchor two years in a row at the New York Festivals.

After leaving journalism, Defne Samyeli took acting lessons at Atölye Craft and played the character Çiğdem in her first series Baba Sınıfta Kaldı; she later took part in the series Kurtlar Vadisi Pusu.

She is part of the cast of the series İstanbullu Gelin, broadcast on Star Tv and headlined by Özcan Deniz and Aslı Enver, and plays the character Siren.
