Erhan Emre — Biography
Erhan Emre is a Kurdish-German artist active in German cinema and television, working not only as an actor but also as a director, screenwriter and producer.
Born on September 4, 1978, in Berlin, Emre is one of eight children of a family that had emigrated from Turkey, with roots in the Hınıs district of Erzurum, and he spent his childhood in the Kreuzberg neighborhood. He pursued production training at the Berlin Film and Television Academy, known by its German abbreviation dffb, finishing the program in 2002.
He first appeared on screen in 1997 in Thomas Arslan's "Geschwister," and in the years that followed took roles in "Gran Paradiso" and two separate episodes of the crime series "Tatort." From the latter half of the 2000s he broadened his filmography with productions such as "Tough Enough," "Kaddisch für einen Freund" and "Mutlu Kuzular," and around the same period moved behind the camera into directing and screenwriting.
