Évelyne Bouix — Biography
Évelyne Bouix, whose full birth name is Évelyne Lina Madeleine Bouix, was born in the French town of Charenton-le-Pont on 22 April 1953. Her acting career began in 1970 and has spanned well over sixty stage and screen productions, starting out with an early film for director Claude Sautet. She is remembered above all for two roles: Fantine in the screen adaptation of Les Misérables, and the singer Edith Piaf in Édith et Marcel. Among her many other film credits are Bolero, Beaumarchais, Remake, and A Man and a Woman: 20 Years Later, along with Tout ça... pour ça!. In 1999 she was named a knight in France's National Order of Merit, and she has been married for many years to the actor Pierre Arditi.
