Hande Erçel — Biography

Hande Erçel is a Turkish actress and model, born on 24 November 1993 in Bandırma, Balıkesir. She studied Traditional Turkish Arts at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. In 2012 she placed second in a beauty pageant held in Azerbaijan.

She began acting with supporting roles in the series Çalıkuşu (2013-2014). After appearances in Çılgın Dersane Üniversitede and Hayat Ağacı, she became widely known in 2015 as Selin in Güneşin Kızları. Her role as Hayat in Aşk Laftan Anlamaz (2016-2017) brought her popularity abroad, and she went on to play Hazal in Siyah İnci. In 2019 she appeared as Müjde in Halka and took the title role in Azize. Sen Çal Kapımı (2020-2021), in which she starred opposite Kerem Bürsin, was sold to more than ninety countries and turned her into an internationally recognized name.

In 2023-2024 she played prosecutor Leyla Gediz alongside Burak Deniz in Bambaşka Biri, which received the Rose d'Or and Seoul International Drama Awards. Her first feature film was the 2024 historical drama Intoxicated by Love, a major box-office success. In 2025 she took the lead in the Netflix romance Rüzgara Bırak. One of the most-followed Turkish actresses on Instagram, Erçel has won numerous awards over the course of her career.
