İlayda Akdoğan — Biography

The project that brought İlayda Akdoğan to a wide audience was Mustang, Deniz Gamze Ergüven's internationally acclaimed film; her performance as Sonay won her the Best Actress award at the Sarajevo Film Festival. An actor since childhood, she now moves between television, cinema and streaming productions. Since 2025 she has played Fatma in Show TV's Bereketli Topraklar, and she also runs her own YouTube channel.

She first faced a camera at six, in 2004, playing Seda in the children's programme En İyi Arkadaşım. Afacanlar Kampı, the role of Gülay in Fox's Bez Bebek and Sevgili Dünürüm filled out her childhood years. Mustang in 2015 was her first step into cinema. She then returned to television, playing Eylül in Oyunbozan, the lead Elif in Fox's Umuda Kelepçe Vurulmaz, and the mischievous, rebellious Asuman in Star TV's summer series Dolunay. In 2020 she reached her first leading film role as Hece in Masallardan Geriye Kalan, and the same year she joined Netflix's Rise of Empires: Ottoman.

Recent years have leaned toward streaming work: the Disney+ series Ben Gri (2022) and Netflix's trilogy 10 Days of a Good Man, 10 Days of a Bad Man and 10 Days of a Curious Man, made alongside Nejat İşler, Kadir Çermik and Şenay Gürler, in which she played Hatice and Pınar.
