Melda Gür — Biography

Melda Gür (born 1971, Ankara) is a Turkish actress and pop music singer.

Influenced by her father, Feyzi Gür, one of the State Theatres Ankara State Opera and Ballet performers, she chose acting as a profession. While pursuing part-time voice training at Istanbul University State Conservatory, she also attended jazz, step, modern and Latin dance lessons with Sait Sökmen for four years. She became a member of the Çıtır Kızlar group, which was established in 1996. The group performed for 3 years.

Starting her professional acting career with a musical titled Dün Gece Yolda Giderken Çok Komik Bir Şey Oldu staged in the Istanbul State Theatre, Gür has appeared in approximately 50 theatrical plays, television series and cinema films throughout her professional life; she has hosted about 10 television programs.

The artist, who performed the role of Lucy The Slut in the musical Avenue Q, which started to be staged in the 2009 season, works as a trainer in the Basic Stage Exercises subject in workshops held at Volkan Severcan Theatre Haldun Dormen Stage.

Between 2011-2014, in the Medyapım-signed series Umutsuz Ev Kadınları, which was produced by Fatih Aksoy, while the leading roles were played by Songül Öden, Bennu Yıldırımlar, Evrim Solmaz, Ceyda Düvenci, Özge Özder and Deniz Uğur, Melda Gür played the employer role.

In the 1990s, with the support of Yonca Evcimik, she became a member of the Çıtır Kızlar music group and took part in the music world.
