Serel Yereli — Biography

Serel Yereli is a young Turkish actress who made her professional start playing Alara in Kanal D's series Bodrum Masalı. Born Buse Serel Yereli, she came to acting through musical theatre and a singing competition.

She was born in the Göztepe district of İzmir. Because her father, a former national handball player, held a post in the handball federation, she spent her childhood in several different countries. As a kindergarten pupil she won a TÜBİTAK award with a project called “Serel's Spaceship”. In her middle-school years she began musical-theatre training in London and played leading roles in the musicals Grease, Mamma Mia and Burlesque. She studied in the theatre department of Yeditepe University and took acting classes at Craft Atölye and with the actress Bahar Kerimoğlu. She speaks English, French, Italian and Spanish.

She first appeared before a wide audience in 2012 on O Ses Türkiye, singing Shakira's “Whenever, Wherever” and going out in the first round. Bodrum Masalı, directed by Mehmet Ada Öztekin and premiered on 18 August 2016, was her first series.
