Days and Hours (Kod amidže Idriza)

Movie · 2004 · 2 people

Kod amidže Idriza, released internationally as Days and Hours, is a 2004 Bosnian drama directed by Pjer Žalica from a script by Namik Kabil. Made in Bosnian and running about 93 minutes, it opened on 20 August 2004. Among its production companies are Refresh Production and the Radio-Television of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The film was sent as Bosnia and Herzegovina's entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 77th Academy Awards, but it did not make the list of nominees.

With its slow pace and sombre mood, the film is described as an oppressive work. It speaks about war and the suffering it leaves behind, about loneliness and a sense of being lost, and at its centre are two elderly people whose only son was taken by the war. Mustafa Nadarević, Senad Bašić and Semka Sokolović-Bertok play the leading roles. The part of Sabire is one of Sokolović-Bertok's last.

The cast also includes Emir Hadžihafizbegović, Izudin Bajrović, Jasna Žalica, Nada Đurevska, Enis Bešlagić, Dragan Marinković and Sanja Burić.
