Düş Gezginleri

Düş Gezginleri is a 1992 Turkish film by the celebrated director Atıf Yılmaz. Centred on the deepening closeness between two women, it follows them as gossip in a conservative provincial town wears them down and they leave together for İstanbul, their bond growing ever stronger. It is remembered as one of the era's bolder Turkish films in its treatment of women's inner lives and of relationships long considered taboo. Lale Mansur's leading performance won her the Golden Orange (Altın Portakal) for Best Actress, and the film became the first Turkish production to screen at an international gay and lesbian film festival, in Turin in 1994.
