Highland Park

Highland Park is a 2013 American comedy-drama directed by Andrew Meieran. The story takes place in Detroit, where the teachers of a high school have spent a decade pooling money to play the same lottery numbers week after week. Just as word arrives that shrinking budgets will cost every one of them their position, that long-unlucky ticket turns into the group's final lifeline, and they wait to learn whether fortune will at last come through. Danny Glover, Parker Posey and Billy Burke headline the film, while Rockmond Dunbar is also among the performers. Mixing light comedy with sincere emotional beats, the picture follows a tight-knit circle of educators who lean on one another and on hope as their livelihoods disappear.
