Lady Anbar

Lady Anbar (Arabic: Anbar) is a 1948 musical comedy from the Kingdom of Egypt, directed by and starring Anwar Wagdi opposite the celebrated singer-actress Laila Mourad, whose rendition of the tune "Who Can Hold My Heart?" became the film's signature number. Rounding out the cast are period comedy favorites Ismail Yassine, Aziz Othman, Mahmoud Shokoko and Elias Moadab.

Blending light musical numbers with broad comic set-pieces, the picture reflects the golden-age tone of Egyptian popular cinema and brings together several of the era's most recognizable singing and comic performers. Ferit Şevki also appears among the players.
