Le calde notti del Decameron

Le calde notti del Decameron is a 1972 Italian sex comedy, part of the "decamerotico" wave of films loosely inspired by Boccaccio's Decameron. Like other entries in the genre, it strings together bawdy, loosely connected tales of lust, trickery and mistaken identities set in a medieval atmosphere. The film is officially credited to director Gian Paolo Callegari, although leading actress Femi Benussi has stated that it was actually directed by the screenwriter Alessandro Moretti — a claim seemingly supported by the opening credits, where Moretti's name appears in the same frame as Callegari's. The cast features Krista Nell, Don Backy, Femi Benussi, Orchidea De Santis, Pupo De Luca and John Bartha. Running about ninety minutes, the picture is a typical product of the playful, risqué streak of 1970s Italian popular cinema.
