The Smile of the Lamb

The Smile of the Lamb (Hebrew: Hiuch HaGdi) is a 1986 Israeli drama film directed by Shimon Dotan, adapted from David Grossman's novel of the same name. Dotan and Grossman co-wrote the screenplay, and the cast includes Makram Khoury, Tuncel Kurtiz and Tarik Kopty. Produced by Herzliya Studios, the film was selected for the competition of the 36th Berlin International Film Festival, where Tuncel Kurtiz received the Silver Bear for Best Actor for his performance. Building on this festival success, the film went on to secure international distribution across Europe and the United States.
