The Three Musketeers of the West

Movie · 1973–1976 · 3 people

Directed by Bruno Corbucci, Tutti per uno... botte per tutti — released internationally as The Three Musketeers of the West — is a 1973 spaghetti Western comedy loosely inspired by Alexandre Dumas' novel The Three Musketeers. An Italian-Spanish-German co-production made by Capitolina Produzioni cinematografiche, the film was scripted by Corbucci together with Tito Carpi and Peter Berling. Giancarlo Prete, George Eastman and Karin Schubert head the cast. Playing the classic tale for laughs, the picture piles slapstick brawls and martial-arts touches onto the familiar Western setting and has been called one of the wildest spaghetti Westerns ever produced, an over-the-top comedy from beginning to end. It opened in German-speaking cinemas on 9 August 1974 in a shortened version.
