Detective School Dropouts

Detective School Dropouts is a 1986 Italian-American action comedy directed by Filippo Ottoni and produced for The Cannon Group. David Landsberg and Lorin Dreyfuss co-wrote the script and also star as the film's two leads.

The story follows a young man obsessed with detective novels who signs up to be trained as a private investigator. His mentor exploits the naive trainee and drags him into a feud involving three cheese-producing families. When the pair trail one of the family members all the way to Italy using stolen passports, their quarry is poisoned and the two suddenly find themselves wanted as murder suspects. The supporting cast includes Christian De Sica, Valeria Golino and George Eastman.
