This Pretty World (Ce joli monde)

This Pretty World (original French title Ce joli monde) is a 1957 French comedy film directed by Carlo Rim, who also wrote the screenplay. The production brings together a number of well-known French character actors of the period, with a cast that includes Darry Cowl, Noël Roquevert, Jean-Roger Caussimon, Micheline Dax, Jacques Fabbri and Lila Kedrova. Rim, already established as a screenwriter and dialogue writer in French cinema, took the director's chair for this picture as well. The film belongs to the tradition of 1950s French screen comedy built around ensemble character acting. It stands as one of the comedies of the era anchored by a familiar supporting ensemble rather than star leads.
