Uğur Pektaş — Biography
Born in Istanbul in 1979 to an Albanian mother and a father from Seferihisar, Uğur Pektaş is a Turkish actor who studied hotel management at Kocaeli University. He turned to acting after winning the reality competition Survivor Turkey: Büyük Macera on Kanal D in 2005, going on to appear in the series Düşler ve Gerçekler and Kuşdili.
He found lasting recognition playing Commissioner Murat Ateş in Arka Sokaklar, Turkish television's longest-running crime series, appearing in 297 episodes between 2006 and 2016 alongside his then-wife and fellow actor Gamze Özçelik, with whom he had a son, Murathan, in 2010. He also portrayed Omar al-Mukhtar in the historical series Mahsusa: Trablusgarb, and had to withdraw from a second run on Survivor in 2020 because of an injury.
Following his divorce in 2024, Pektaş stepped away from acting for a time to focus on spirituality before returning to television in November 2025 as Abdurrahman Gazi in the series Kuruluş Orhan.
