Zara — Biography
Zara was born in 1976 in Adıyaman.
She completed her education in the Voice Training Department of the Turkish Music State Conservatory at İstanbul Technical University.
Zara, who became the champion of Turkey in the inter-high-school Music and Folk Dance competition in 1991, began working as a contracted vocal artist for TRT Turkish Folk Music in 1996.
In 1998 she released her first album, titled Avuntu, and was deemed worthy of the Promising Female Artist of the Year award.
For four years in a row she received the Golden Butterfly award for Best Turkish Folk Music Female Artist.
Zara, who founded the company Zr Müzik in 2007, has, in addition to singing, hosted a TV program and also acted in films.
She joined the cast of the series Eşkıya Dünyaya Hükümdar Olmaz, broadcast on Atv, in which Oktay Kaynarca, Sanem Çelik and Deniz Çakır share the lead roles, and plays the character Gönül.
