Adnan Maral — Biography
Born on 1 July 1968 in the Çıldır district of Ardahan, Adnan Maral grew up mainly in Frankfurt am Main and is an actor and writer of Turkish-German heritage.
The role that made him widely known in Germany was Metin Öztürk in the ARD sitcom Türkisch für Anfänger, which he began playing in 1996; the performance won him the 2006 German Television Award for Best Actor in a Series, and roughly a decade later he reprised the role in the show's film adaptation.
His filmography spans early-career titles such as Kebab Connection, Die Wilden Kerle 3, Fay Grim and Tom Sawyer, and later work including Kimliksiz, Famous Five 4, Die Känguru-Chroniken and Faraway, across comedy, drama and family films. He is married to Franziska Maral.
