Albert Rémy was a French screen actor from Sèvres who spent most of his career playing supporting parts rather than leads. His two most cited roles came from François Truffaut's early work: he played the man raising young Antoine Doinel in The 400 Blows, and took the part of the sibling to Charles Aznavour's character in Shoot the Piano Player. Beyond those, his credits stretch to Marcel Carné's Les Enfants du Paradis, John Frankenheimer's The Train, and a production by René Clément set against wartime Paris. Earlier in his career he took parts in French staples including The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Devil in the Flesh. A handful of French references credit him with occasional directing work alongside his acting. His run on screen stretched from the early 1940s to the mid-1960s, across dozens of French pictures. Reference sources are not unanimous on his birth and death years: Wikidata and TMDB place both in 1911, whereas several Wikipedia language editions and IMDb use 1915 instead.
