Álex García Fernández — Biography

Álex García is a well-known Spanish actor of television and film. He first stood out in the series Amar en tiempos revueltos and Tierra de lobos, then won over cinema audiences with films such as Seis puntos sobre Emma and La novia. In recent years he has been seen as Germán in the series Sagrada familia (Holy Family).

Born in San Cristóbal de La Laguna on Tenerife, García worked as a local reporter in the Canary Islands before turning to acting. He moved to Madrid and trained at Cristina Rota's studio. He took small television parts in Compañeros, Hospital Central and Génesis, en la mente del asesino, and reached a wide audience as Alfonso García in Amar en tiempos revueltos and César Bravo in Tierra de lobos. Sin tetas no hay paraíso also helped establish his early recognition.

His first major film role came in 2011 opposite Verónica Echegui in Seis puntos sobre Emma. His performance in Entre esquelas (2012) earned him the Actors and Actresses Union Award for Best New Actor, and his role as Leonardo in La novia (2015, The Bride) brought a Goya nomination for Best New Actor. Kamikaze (2014) and Si yo fuera rico are also part of his filmography.
