Asiye Dinçsoy — Biography

Asiye Dinçsoy was born on 22 March 1979 in the Söke district of Aydın and trained as an actress at Yeditepe University's Theatre Department. She began her film career with roles in Recep İvedik and Fırtına, both released in 2007, and soon moved between cinema and television work.

A turning point came in 2016, when her performance as Nesrin in Toz Bezi earned her Best Actress honours at the Istanbul Film Festival, the Nuremberg Ger-TR Film Festival and the Ankara Film Festival. In 2012 the Turkish Film Critics Association named her Best Supporting Actress for her role as Songül in Press, and in 2009 the Adana Golden Boll Film Festival gave her its Promising Young Actress award for playing Meryem in Hayatın Tuzu.

Known for festival films such as Saç (2010), Yozgat Blues (2013) and Snow and the Bear (2022), Dinçsoy also appeared in the 2025 film O da Bir Şey mi. She has spoken in interviews about how solidarity among women changes the atmosphere on a film set, and continues to work in theatre.
