Nazan Kesal — Biography
Nazan Kesal was born on 28 March 1969 in Manisa and graduated from the Theatre-Acting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dokuz Eylül University in 1991.
Between 1996 and 2004 she worked as both actor and director at the Diyarbakır State Theatre before joining the Bursa State Theatre; she also performed with independent companies such as Ankara Sanatevi, Tiyatro Ayna, Tiyatro İstanbul and the Diyarbakır Art Center.
She entered cinema through Nuri Bilge Ceylan's film Uzak (Distant), and her work in Climates (İklimler), Hair (Saç) and Daire brought her award recognition and nominations.
On television she has appeared in series such as Bir Zamanlar Çukurova, Halka and Fazilet Hanım ve Kızları, and she later completed a master's degree in film and television at Beykent University.
Across a career spanning more than three decades, Kesal has worked as a stage, film and television actress as well as a director, and remains active in the industry today.
