Ayşegül Aldinç — Biography
Ayşegül Aldinç (born 28 September 1957 in Istanbul) is a Turkish singer and actress. The daughter of sports journalist Orhan Aldinç and art teacher Süheyla Aldinç, she studied ceramics at Marmara University, then briefly taught music before spending six years as a pattern designer at the Yıldız porcelain factory.
She took her first professional steps in music in the late 1970s. In 1981 she appeared at the Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin as part of the Modern Folk Trio, performing "Dönme Dolap" for Turkey. Her first solo album arrived in 1988, and over the following years she toured widely, giving concerts across Europe, the Soviet Union, the United States and China.
Aldinç made her screen debut in the 1985 TRT series Acımak, then moved into feature films in 1987 with Yağmur Kaçakları and Katırcılar. Her performance in the 1994 film Gerilla earned her the Best Actress prize at the Adana Altın Koza Film Festival. Her many screen credits include Güle Güle, Kahpe Bizans, Sultan Makamı and Pis Yedili.
