Barış Yıldız — Biography

Barış Yıldız is a theatre, film and television actor whose profile rose with the role of Tekin in the series İşler Güçler and who reached wide audiences in the Düğün Dernek films and the series Kardeş Payı. In the 2020s he has continued to appear in productions such as Kasaba Doktoru and Kudüs Fatihi Selahaddin Eyyubi.

Born in Istanbul, Yıldız studied dramaturgy and acting at Tiyatro Manga between 1996 and 1999 and graduated from the Theatre Department of the Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory in 2003. Alongside his stage work he began appearing on screen in 2004 with Aliye, and played Zülfikar in the series Benim Annem Bir Melek. In 2008 he won Best Actor for Made in Europe at the 15th International Golden Boll Film Festival.

His breakthrough came in 2012-13 with İşler Güçler; with the same team he played Muallim Saffet in Düğün Dernek and its sequel Düğün Dernek 2: Sünnet. His Barış in Kardeş Payı earned great praise. In later years he appeared in Familya, Martıların Efendisi, Her Yerde Sen, Tutunamayanlar (as Şair Lütfü), Kasaba Doktoru (as Turgut Ölgü), Çok Aşk and Benim Güzel Ailem. He played Erol Taşlı in Netflix's Sıcak Kafa and Berkecan in Exxen's Şeref Bey, and appeared in the 2025 film Sıcak Büfe.
