Rasim Öztekin — Biography

Rasim Öztekin was born on 14 January 1959 in Istanbul and died there on 8 March 2021. He studied at the Faculty of Communication of Istanbul University, began his stage career with amateur theatre troupes, and later became a professional actor with Ferhan Şensoy's Ortaoyuncular company. He also wrote scripts for Turkish state broadcaster TRT and, for a time, wrote a newspaper column for Akşam. After debuting on screen in 1986 in the series Bir Günlük Aşk, he went on to build a career of some thirty-five years, appearing in television shows such as Seksenler, Geniş Aile, Hırsız Polis and Kabadayı, and in films including G.O.R.A, Pardon, Düğün Dernek and Mandıra Filozofu. In his final years on screen he played the character Hiko Dayı in the series Klavye Delikanlıları. He was the father of actress Pelin Öztekin.
