Bestemsu Özdemir — Biography

Bestemsu Özdemir was born on 20 April 1992 in Istanbul to a family originally from Erzincan. After her parents separated when she was two and a half, she lived for a time with her grandmother in Ankara before moving back to Istanbul to be with her mother. She attended the Saint-Benoît French high school and then studied in the Fashion Design department of Istanbul Technical University. She signed with a modeling agency and worked for the brand Mavi, giving up modeling for acting after meeting manager Cem Tatlıtuğ.

She made her screen debut in 2012, playing Melike Derbent in the TRT 1 series Sakarya Fırat. She became widely known for the role of Nilüfer Denizer in the 2014 series Kara Para Aşk. In 2015 she played Sevgi in Analar ve Anneler and Rosa in the film Tabula Rosa; in 2016 she played Defne in the film Biz Size Döneriz and appeared in the series İçerde. In 2017 she gained further recognition as Beliz Bilen in the Kanal D series Meryem. She played Fulya in the 2018 film Baba Nerdesin Kayboldum and Zeynep Gerginoğlu in the series Ege'nin Hamsisi, followed by İpek in the Star TV series Güvercin in 2019 and Selma in Akrep in 2020. She went on to appear in the series İkimizin Sırrı, Gecenin Ucunda and Kirli Sepeti, and in the 2022 film Servet Operasyonu, extending her profile internationally with a role in the 2023 film Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre.

Özdemir was once in a relationship with actor Can Yaman, dated lawyer Nail Gönenli starting in 2019, and married former basketball player Ersin Görkem in 2025.
