Doğa Rutkay — Biography

Doğa Rutkay Kamal is a conservatory-trained stage actress who built a many-sided career across television series, comedy sketch shows, presenting and film. The daughter of the actor Rutkay Aziz, she is best known as Layla in Aşkım Aşkım and, for many years now, as the character Yeter on Show TV's Güldür Güldür Show.

She graduated from the theatre department of Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory in 2000 and appeared in private theatres in 27 Numara, Terk and Averaj Takımı. Her screen path began in 1998 with Çiçeği Büyütmek, continuing in 1999 with Çağan Irmak's Günaydın İstanbul Kardeş. Popularity came with Aşkım Aşkım (2001-2008), the comedy led by Emel Sayın and Mehmet Ali Erbil, in which she played Layla; she also played Zeliş in Pembe Patikler. In cinema she was Latife Hanım opposite Halit Ergenç's Atatürk in Dersimiz Atatürk (2009) and appeared in films such as Dedemin Fişi and Çakallarla Dans 2: Hastasıyız Dede.

As a presenter she hosted the talk show Doğayla Gece Yarısı on Kanaltürk in 2005 and Buyur Burdan Bak on Kanal D in 2014. Joining BKM's Güldür Güldür cast brought out her comic side. In 2014 she married the journalist and presenter Kerimcan Kamal; they have twin children born in 2018.
