Murat Akkoyunlu — Biography

Murat Akkoyunlu is a comedy actor from Bursa with a background in theatre. He became widely known as Del Piero Hikmet in the Çakallarla Dans film series and has also played many characters in sketch shows such as Güldür Güldür Show. The series continues: in summer 2026 he returned to the set for Çakallarla Dans 8: Şututgart Çıkarması.

He began on stage at the Bursa Tobav Youth Theatre, then worked at the Bursa State Theatre, Tevfik Gelenbe Tiyatrosu, Tiyatro Ti, Tiyatro Çisenti and Bugay Yapım Prodüksiyon Tiyatrosu, and with Gökhan Semiz's E.S.E.K. ensemble he appeared in Godot'yu İzlerken and Üçüncü Türden Yakın İlişkiler. He came to television in the series Bizimkiler, Koltuk Sevdası, Cesur Kuşku and İki Arada. In 2005 he played weekly sketches on Okan Bayülgen's Televizyon Makinesi, and he made children's programmes for TRT. He was in Güldür Güldür Show in the 2020-2021 season and left the project in 2021.

In cinema he has played Del Piero Hikmet in the sequels since the first Çakallarla Dans of 2010. Sağ Salim and Sağ Salim 2: Sil Baştan, Arkadaşım Max, Dört Köşe, Dayı: Bir Adamın Hikayesi and C Takımı are among his notable work, as is the series Şevkat Yerimdar; he played İbo in C Takımı and C Takımı 2.

Their work through different eyes

Cinephile Looks at script, editing and directing choices; keeps a distance from formula films.

Del Piyero Hikmet, the part that made Murat Akkoyunlu known to wide audiences, is a mould repeated from film to film in the Çakallarla Dans series; Çakallarla Dans 4 and Çakallarla Dans 5 sold plenty of tickets, but in my view the same recipe keeps coming round. Ezel Akay's Hacivat Karagöz Neden Öldürüldü? and Neredesin Firuze build a more written comic world, and character parts like Memur Bıkkın and Tatü work harder there.

History & Society Lens Asks about the period, the social background and what the work reflects.

Murat Akkoyunlu's comedy is most interesting when it also touches something. Bu Son Olsun is a first feature that looks at the 12 September coup with dark humour; Neredesin Firuze is a musical comedy satirising debt-ridden cassette producers and Unkapanı. These comedies that touch a social subject are, in my view, a better place than Çakallarla Dans to weigh his work.
