Dance with the Jackals 3 (Çakallarla Dans 3: Sıfır Sıkıntı)

Movie · 2014 · 13 people

The 2014 Turkish comedy-crime film Çakallarla Dans 3: Sıfır Sıkıntı (Dance with the Jackals 3) was directed by Murat Şeker. A sequel to the series' second film, Çakallarla Dans 2: Hastasıyız Dede, it was made by Sugar Workz, distributed by Mars Entertainment Group and released on December 5, 2014. It runs 94 minutes. Murat Şeker and Ali Tanrıverdi wrote it; music is by Serhat Ersöz, cinematography by Murat Tuncel.

The story centers on four friends living on parole, Kayınço Gökhan, Muhasebeci Servet, Köfte Necmi and Del Piero Hikmet, who attend group therapy to readjust. One day on a ferry Hikmet meets Mihriban, a mute woman; they grow closer, fall in love, and Hikmet decides to marry her. Mihriban's mother Cemile asks only one thing of him: that before she dies she hears her daughter say "mother" again. The only obstacle is the cost of the operation, a sum these men can hardly raise without scheming. For their friend's happiness the crew tries every route, in an adventure of action and laughs.

Şevket Çoruh plays Kayınço Gökhan, Murat Akkoyunlu plays Del Piero Hikmet, Timur Acar plays Köfte Necmi and İlker Ayrık plays Muhasebeci Servet. Didem Balçın, Derya Şensoy, Derya Baykal and Gürkan Uygun also appear.

Through different eyes

Yeşilçam Nostalgic A viewer raised on the classics, looking for warm storytelling and strong acting.

Four former convicts rallying for a friend's happiness is, at heart, a story of friendship and sacrifice of the kind Yeşilçam loved. The wish of mute Mihriban's mother to hear her daughter say "mother" again before she dies gives the film an unexpected heart. Yet the fatigue of being the third film in a series shows; the humour often leans on noise and exaggerated types rather than finesse. For an eye used to the old comedies that made you laugh and think at once, the balance between laughter and feeling wobbles a little.

Family Viewer Asks whether the whole household can watch it; cares about humour and heart.

There is a sweet friendship story here, and the goal is to help a family. But the heroes are ex-convicts out on parole who turn to scheming to find the money. However kind the message, this is not behaviour you want children copying. Fun for teens and adults; with young children, think twice before pressing play.

Action & Thriller Fan Puts pace, tension and set pieces first; little patience for slow drama.

It is billed as a comedy-crime film, but the action side stays in the shadow of the laughs. The crew's plotting for the operation money is where the pace holds best, and at 94 minutes it wraps up before it drags. Fans of the earlier films will enjoy this gang again, but if you want real tension or a well-built heist set piece, keep your expectations low.
