İlker Ayrık — Biography

İlker Ayrık was born on 16 October 1979 in Balıkesir to a family of Macedonian Turkish descent and lost his father at the age of nine. He dreamed of becoming an engineer in high school until a school play redirected him toward acting, and in 2003 he graduated from the Theatre Department of the Müjdat Gezen Art Center Conservatory, then spent six years as Müjdat Gezen's assistant. After working with MSM Oyuncuları, Müjdat Gezen Theatre, Tiyatro Ti and Kent Oyuncuları, he co-founded Pervasız Theatre with Aykut Taşkın in 2005; with Kent Oyuncuları he appeared in an adaptation of The Miser, and he also appeared in Doa's music video Yallah. From 2001 he took on a steady stream of film, television and advertising work, including several Akbank commercials alongside Kıvanç Tatlıtuğ. He is best known for playing the accountant Servet across the Çakallarla Dans film series, and also played Mürsel in the sitcom Geniş Aile and Çağatay in TRT 1's long-running Seksenler (2012-2022); in 2018 he drew attention hosting the comedy program Acayip Tipler with his students. He married his high-school friend Sanem Ayrık in 2009.
