Ece Yaşar — Biography

Ece Yaşar is an Ankara-born actress best known as Karaca Koçovalı in Show TV's Çukur. Her run in the series began in 2017 and ended in April 2021 with the character's death; the role made her name with a wide audience.

The daughter of a family originally from Denizli, Yaşar studied ballet at Hacettepe University's Ankara State Conservatory through middle and high school, decided to act while still at school, and completed the acting department of Ankara University's Faculty of Languages, History and Geography. Her early working life began on the stage, and she also worked as an assistant director and voiced commercials.

She first faced a camera in Kara Sevda (2015-2016) as Eda. While Çukur was still running she made her film debut as Maral in Direniş Karatay (2018). In 2021, the year she left the series, she appeared in Exxen's Ölüm Zamanı and in Annemizi Saklarken (Derya Güven), and in 2023 she played Ceylan in Kısmet. In a 2024 interview she described every role as a separate world for her.
