Esra Bilgiç — Biography

The role that made Esra Bilgiç known to a wide audience was Halime Hatun in TRT 1's historical adventure series Diriliş: Ertuğrul. It won her fans in many of the countries where the show aired, and her popularity in Pakistan led to her becoming the face of several brands there in 2020. She also works as a model, and in recent years has moved between series, films and streaming productions.

Born in Ankara, Bilgiç studied at Bilkent University and later went on to Marmara University's law faculty. Her acting career began with Diriliş: Ertuğrul, in which she played Halime for four seasons, winning the Social Awareness Awards prize for best female television actress and the Anadolu Media Awards television actor of the year prize. After leaving the show she played Derya Akar in the short-lived Bir Umut Yeter, then, after a year away, carried the Show TV crime drama Ramo (2020-2021) as Sibel Kaya. She played Gülfem Paşazade on FOX in Kanunsuz Topraklar (2021-2022), which ended after 16 episodes.

On the big screen she played Cemre in Adanış: Kutsal Kavga (2022) and Corinne in the two-part Atatürk 1881-1919. Later work includes Romantik Hırsız, Zamanın Kapıları and the Netflix comedy Bir İhtimal Daha Var (as Seda); in 2026 first images from her new series Maestro were released. She married footballer Gökhan Töre in 2017 and the couple divorced in 2019.
