Gamze Özçelik — Biography
Zeynep Gamze Özçelik is a Turkish actress, television presenter and former model, born in Istanbul on 26 August 1982. She studied at Maltepe Anadolu High School and Istanbul Bilgi University, finished fourth in the 1999 Elite Model Look contest, and was runner-up at Miss Turkey in 2000.
She moved from modelling into hosting, presenting competition shows such as Popstar Türkiye, Türkstar and Buzda Dans, before turning to acting with the 2004 film Hırsız Var! and a stage role in 2006.
She is best known for playing Zeynep Akyüz Ateş in the long-running series Arka Sokaklar from 2006 to 2018, and also appeared in Tatlı Hayat, Serseri, Canan, Fatih and Mehmetçik Kut'ül Amare; in 2017 she founded the charity Umuda Koşanlar.
She married her Arka Sokaklar co-star Uğur Pektaş in 2008 and divorced him in 2011, then married Reshad Strik in 2024. After an eight-year break she returned to television in 2026 in a TRT series, received an award from Üsküdar University that year, and has taken part with her husband in aid campaigns for children in Gaza.
