Gözde Kansu — Biography

Gözde Kansu is an actress from İzmir with more than two decades on screen. Her best-known role for a wide audience is Gülgün Korhan in Yalı Çapkını; in 2026 she is in the news for the film Başıbozuklar and for joining the cast of the series Çirkin, reuniting on set with Çetin Tekindor.

She started out in ballet. She won a place in the theatre department of Dokuz Eylül University's Faculty of Fine Arts by exam, took part in the school's theatre and music activities, and worked with Istanbul City Theatres crews, joining their Antalya tour. Her early television work was guest parts in Kurşun Yarası, Ayrılsak da Beraberiz, Çiçek Taksi and En Son Babalar Duyar. Her breakout was Nimet in Dudaktan Kalbe, followed by series adapted from classic novels such as Hanımın Çiftliği and Al Yazmalım, and a move into cinema with Issız Adam and Abuzer Kadayıf. Cemile, Canım Benim, Yeter Anne, Bahar Dalları, Medcezir and Ankara'nın Dikmeni came next; later years brought Ulan İstanbul, İçerde, Gecenin Kraliçesi, Sen Anlat Karadeniz and, in the film Geçmiş, the role of Esin.

Alongside acting she worked as a presenter. When an outfit she wore while hosting a competition show in 2013 drew criticism from Hüseyin Çelik, she left the programme and Murat Başoğlu took over. In 2020 she also stepped away from presenting Kuaförüm Sensin.
